I got this baby........ I'm around the corner of the finish line................... wait a minute.... not too fast still 4 miles to go :/ Lol......... (for one second I thought the finish was just after the beach path. Beautiful race. Love the city. Love the people. Love the course. Love the organization. Love the logistics. Love the souvenirs everyone got. Love the medal (we earned) love you guys. Thank you for everything you put on the table DELMO SPORTS Elite Events. I LOVE USA!!!
Great job on the Tri this weekend, I don’t think it could have went any smoother or could have had any better weather. I am looking forward to next year all ready.
I have to say I had an amazing time in my first ironman. My experience was only exceptional. Thank you so much to the amazing volunteers and staff, I felt that it was extremely well organized and the expectations were very clear. This was only my second triathlon ever and I have to say, the tri community is absolutely amazing and encouraging. Thank you for making this experience one of the best in my athletic life!!!
I absolutely loved this race!! It was so well organized and the course was awesome!! I would recommend this half to everyone! Thank you to all of the organizers and volunteers for your hard work and the awesome pacers! It was a fantastic day! :)
Volunteered at the Women For Tri/Jersey Girls Run Aid Station and Body Marked at Ironman 70.3 AC yesterday and had a blast! I have a new found love and respect for the sport from the volunteer standpoint now! Volunteers are as amazing as the athletes who conquer the miles! Thanks to Stephen del Monte for putting on such an awesome race.... I will be heading up to race it next year as my first ever branded 70.3... every half I've done since 2007 has been independent! Congrats to everyone on such an amazing weekend!
Great experience! This was my first half marathon and I thought it was well organized and a lot of fun! The emcee was hilarious, the band was great, and all the volunteers had spunk and worked hard. Thank you Wildwood, thank you Morey's Piers, and thank you to everyone who came out and cheered us on!
Yay! I finished! Although I've completed many sprint/Olympic distance tris, at the young age of 58, I decided to try my first half-iron. Missed my goal by 26 min (wanted to break 7 hrs.), but so glad I did it! I too thought the support from all involved was top notch. I have never raced where the police took such an active role in cheering, turning on water, etc. Usually I'm just thankful they're directing traffic! This post race glow may last quite a while. Thank you AC!
This was one of the most fun and well-organized races I have ever run. Registration and packet pickup were painless; the tech tee was high quality and well-designed (one I will actually wear over and over!); the course was challenging, beautiful ad fun, all at the same time; the finish line experience was special (please let the emcee know that his efforts to read every finisher's name as they crossed the line meant a lot); and the post-run nutrition was plentiful. A special shout-out to the course volunteers whose energy and encouragement helped tremendously. I don't have a bad thing to say about this race. Looking forward to next year already!
What a great race! Well organized, great volunteers cheering us on, wonderful band at the finish and of course, great beer!
Had a great half debut. Thanks to the Morey Organization and all volunteers for making it fun.
Thanks to Stephen del Monte, the Delmo crew, Ironman and especially the volunteers. My first Ironman 70.3 was a success and I'm looking forward to being back in AC next September to set a new PR!
I truly love competing in Delmo events. Since I live right around the corner from AC I was ecstatic to be part of an amazing group of volunteers. The challenging part was greeting the athletes off the shuttle and reassuring them everything would be alright. Hopefully everyone made it on time. Thank you for being so understanding. It was great to see such a huge turnout. I learned a lot from this experience as a volunteer. You athletes are truly amazing !!! And as far as the spectators shuttle: due to the overwhelming amount of athletes it's was in the best interest for the safety of the runners for the police to hold back the traffic they way they did. Thank you ACPD for keeping the athletes safe. 👍🏻
By far most well put together event EVER!!!! Being a first time participant, you went above and beyond to let us just worry about the race. I told EVERYONE how amazing the whole experience was. Expecting hopefully a lot more locals to participate next year. :-))))))) a huge thank you!!!! More than you know!!!!!
Huge thanks to local and state law enforcement. I'm from the Midwest and not a big city. Heading off the bombs at Seaside and NY was a very frightening eye opener for me. I am so amazed by how many I saw on the course and the steps that were made to keep us safe on all levels from fending off traffic for us. :o to attacks. Even more impressive was how friendly they were on the course. One of the nicest groups I've seen at a race. Special thanks to the deputy who stood on the boardwalk and pushed the shower button for us. He was awesome and fun too. I can't imagine what it takes to put on a race this size in a city of this size. Amazing coordination between race staff, local municipalities and law enforcement. Give thanks to everyone. I also want to that all the amazing athletes and volunteers who encouraged me along the way. Love this community. I hope this "pink sparkle skirt lady" made some of you smile and forget the pain for a second or two. Thanks to everyone who made a tough day survivable.
Just catching up with the national and local news and want to send a big thank you to the law enforcement officers securing the race course today along with all the volunteers who made it a great day.
I wish there were 6 stars. There is no other race program like this ANYWHERE! DelMo races & Steve Del Monte best ever. You really feel like you are getting twice as much as you paid for.
I have not commented, but have been following the posts over the past 24+ hours...My two main take-aways from from the race: 1. Stephen Del Monte is an awesome Race Director! Plenty of support on the course, great staff and volunteers, beautiful course! I have worked plenty of Delmo races as a vendor/sponsor, but now can comment as an athlete...I have done races throughout the US and this was one of the best (even though I did not PR)! 2. The Atlantic City public safety team (Police, Fire, EMS and Surf Guard) are first rate! Despite all of the negative comments on the swim, the surf guard put public safety first. Despite the events in Seaside on Saturday, I felt totally safe thanks to the AC Police and the NJ State Police. Thank you for a great race and protecting me and my family!
I loved this race! It was my favorite by far! It was so relaxed & well organized. The course was amazing. I love, love, loved running on the boardwalk seeing the ocean. Will definitely be doing this one next year!
Thank goodness today's weather didn't happen yesterday!! Thanks Stephen del Monte to your staff and the volunteers for a great race! Nothing ever goes perfect but all-in-all it was a well run race. I really appreciated the well stocked tables on the boardwalk and the crowd control for runners was awesome. If there is anyway to add more shade; it would be even more perfect.
My friends and I did our first Tri today…. What a great event!!! Can’t wait till next year! Thanks so much!
Great race put on by Stephen del Monte and DelMoSport! Shout out to the volunteers, especially my female tri group Philly Waves, who got there before the athletes arrived ready to work! Cheered us on and made it easier to get through my first 70.3! I hope you all enjoyed my daughters signs and enthusiasm on the boardwalk. Love my personal cheerleaders! #family #phillywaves #🏊🚴
Good morning IMAC competitors! Thank you so much Stephen Del Monte , all the volunteers & law enforcement for a fabulous experience in my first 70.3! It was an awesome experience. If pressed for input to make it even more fabulous, I would love to see one more aid station on the bike course. Thank you again - great work everyone!
You put on great races. I’d come even if you didn’t just to support you in the small way I can! But I’m sincere in my feedback. You are separating yourself from your peers in race promotion with your attention to detail. That is what matters. Any race that has the infrastructure to support both professional athletes and first timers is doing it right. Your race is unique and has taken a step forward each year I’ve participated. As you expand even further, I encourage you to stay true to your original philosophy and spirit as much as possible. When I look at other successful races that have grown and developed from something small, this underlying theme is consistent. Though they may have grown to be elaborate races, they retain their “grassroots” and community feel. This is why I like your race so much. It feels part of the town of Wildwood, and community support is apparent. Or…it feels as though the race is “for the community,” as opposed to being “for the race directors,” which is often the case in lesser races. I think St Anthony’s is a close example to your race. It is interwoven into the community, and is unique because of that nuance. The experience is more than the race itself. Many other races exist outside of the community, in venues that are removed from the community, without much involvement from the community. These races feel shallow and empty, and as racer, I’m left with an experience that is wholly defined by just the event and my performance. At St Anthony’s, I have had poor results but always come away having had a really enjoyable experience. Through your race, I have come to realize that Wildwood has a very strong and established community, and by participating in the race, I feel as though I’ve become a small part of it. That is HUGE! It’s like Ironman. You do one, and you’re part of the “club.” I sense that this is what is happening with your race, and it will extend to AC. DelmoSports races are a unique experience.
I had so much fun at the race!! Thank-you for setting up a great race & look forward to next year!
What an awesome race! You and your family deserve a huge congratulations on pulling off such a demanding event. This was my 6th Tri and although I’m not one of your elite competitors I still get caught up in the competition and push myself to do better. Thanks again and I’ll see you next year.
A huge THANKS to every single volunteer and police officer. You guys rocked!!! You all kept me going, made sure I was fueled, stayed safe and gave me that extra you got this when I definitely needed it! THANKS again!!!! Big hugs.
Very professionally managed from top to bottom, with the amenities of a big-city event. Unbeatable scenery, and because it's in mid-May, you can bring the family and make a weekend of it without breaking the bank and dealing with summer crowds. Note: It should be obvious given the location, but you should play up the PR potential when marketing this race. Unless you suffer a compound fracture on the race course, you will PR here.
This was the best race -- starting from the training program each week right up to the finish line! So well organized, great volunteers, started right on time, and the beautiful route (not to mention the awesome goodies in the bag at the end)! Well done, looking forward to next year!!
Wildwood did another great event! Thank you! Along the beach, how can you not have fun!
Thanks for putting on a great race! We lucked out with a perfect day and you provided an awesome brunch, great winner prizes and race experience. Congrats.
Well run event, wonderful volunteers! Loved it and can't wait to run it again in 2016!
I couldn’t have picked a more perfect Triathlon for my first one. Everything about this race was awesome, from the course to the race director to the amazing volunteers. Can’t wait for next year…I will be doing all of the DelMo Triathlons next year (hopefully)!!
Had a great time. Awesome job Delmo Sports !!! The volunteers rocked at the finish line !
I gotta tell you, every time I wear my escape the cape shirt (which is as often as I can!) someone in the community comes up to me and says “did you do that?! did you jump off the ferry?!
Seriously, you pulled it off in GRAND FASHION. That race was awesome. I usually don’t brag about my races, but I’ve been all about posting pics on FB this week. I had a fantastic time. Thanks for your dedication and passion.
Great race with a very pretty course. Seemed to fall a bit short (around 0.5 mi) of the full distance, according to my Garmin. 5K and 8K should definitely have a different course though. If you run six-minute miles, you will definitely see some congestion on the course for the last mile. All in all, a great time! Beautiful medals, nice race shirts, and a fun after party in the field with a great band!! Plus, unlimited rides in Morey's Piers. You can't beat that!
Can I just say how awesome the volunteers were. Especially on the run part. Wasn't my day and each and every volunteer did everything in their power to get me to the finish line. I can't thank you enough.
Nothing but great things to say about the race today! steve, your commical relief is exactly what i needed before and after my first tri!
With the exemption of the distance, this was my first time running this race and I loved it! The start was organized and on time, the course was beautiful, the volunteers were encouraging and appeared excited to be there, and the finish line party area was great! This isn't the first race I've run where my gps and the course don't match up and I'm sure it won't be the last, it happens, just wish we had the heads up at the start! The tech shirt is actually wearable and the pier tickets made for a fun weekend!
This was a great race from start to finish. You couldn't beat the price for everything you received. The hospitality was wonderful and thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard. I did the 8K and had a blast. Will definitely be doing this one again next year!
Glad I made the trip down from northern jersey. Great race, great day, looking forward to next year!
It’s easy to see DelMoSports as the dominate shore tri series out there for so many amateurs getting into the sport. For all the newcomers to the ridiculously fast in this growing sport the past 5 years you really make them feel like rock stars, and that seems to be your goal.
I hope Stephen del Monte feels as wonderful as I do this morning. Another fantastic race experience with DelMo Sports, his amazing team and simply fantastic crew of volunteers. Ironman should be proud to have added this race and this race director to their repertoire.
Huge shout out and thank you to all the volunteers who supported us yesterday .. You guys reallly make such a huge difference.. And to all the athletes way to kick ass Out there ... Awesome job by everyone...
There are only a few races where you get to jump off a boat to start your triathlon day. Among them are the legendary Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon and the Norseman in Norway. This past weekend 1208 athletes jumped from near Cape May, NJ to challenge themselves in the Escape the Cape Triathlon and we surely noticed.
Thank you Steve DelMonte for another great race! You thought of everything, right down to the mats at the WAWA entrance! This was my first 70.3 and couldn't be prouder finishing it! Your volunteers were so encouraging along the way, and I don't think I could have survived the run without those ice cold sponges! A special thank you to all the police officers from AC and the surrounding towns as well they did an excellent job! Right down to the officer that kept the shower on the Ventner boardwalk going! As for the parking complainers, if they attended the Athletes meeting they would have known to leave early. We got there no later than 4:45 and had no issues. After all there is pretty much only one way in from the boardwalk, that is out of your control! Oh and JGSS winning the Delmo Cup an added bonus!
I don’t think that I will do any other events. You really have it down to a science of how to run an event. I am really impressed with how you make the event so personal for everyone, and you make it your duty to see that everyone has a great time and an unforgettable experience.
Okay, so let me get my list of complaints out of the way first: Sky too blue Ocean too calm Tide too low Not enough wind Not enough soft sand Donuts too delicious I thought I’d get this list to you early so you could get a jump on it for next year’s race. 🙂 Seriously, what a great day! Congrats on a job well done. And thank you for finding me in the crowd for the Cadence treat. I should tell you, however, that I wound up giving it away to someone else. The woman who won the aero helmet told me that the helmet was going into a raffle basket to raise money for breast cancer. I gave my Cadence gift to them for the basket. Definitely a better use of it! I wanted you to know that your generosity towards me will in turn benefit many others. Enjoy the rest of your summer with your beautiful family!
I had a great time doing this event. It was my first time, but I look forward to returning annually. I especially appreciated all of the support staff – the lifeguards (very supportive in the water), the directional folks, and the water providers. All had a great sense of humor and were supportive throughout the event. Nice job!
Thanks, Stephen del Monte, for all you did to pull this together, and also to the awesome volunteers and police, fireman (particularly the officer running the shower on the boardwalk). I've followed you long enough to know you'll work out any identified kinks next year. A beach umbrella that runs the length of the boardwalk would be a nice start.
Stephen, Great race!!!! Your team did a fabulous job putting on a first class race! Semper Fi
Thank you for another awesome race.and a great after party!!!!
Thanks for letting my daughter volunteer she manned the water station on 15th on the beach. Another well run event, I enjoy them yearly, see you next year!!!! By the way, my wife is the one with the cow bells.
Awesome race yesterday!! Thanks to the great volunteers, police, delmo sports and ironman staff. I said one and done but it was so enjoyable u might see me back again!! Thx guys, u ROCK!!
This was my second half and I really enjoyed the this one because all the volunteers were so nice to all the runners and being so encouraging to everyone in the race. I can't wait until next year. I am in for next year!
Just wanted to let you know that I received the medals in the mail today. Thank you for sending them. Also thank you for the gift certificates, I’m sure that I will you them very soon. I really enjoyed participating in your race. It was a great experience and lots of fun to run on the beach. Thanks Again!
Had a blast running my first Wildwood half marathon. Great support from everyone and your volunteers provided so much needed energy, especially at the 7 & 8 mile marks. Really hope I can do it again next year!! Very well organized.
Great race!!! Loved the Boardwalk run. Thank you for putting on such a fun event! Didn’t get my results at the race, looking forward to the update to the website to see how much the wind helped my bike pace coming back!!
This was my first half marathon & it was an incredible experience! The volunteers were awesome (thank you!), the race was well organized & the atmosphere was amazing!
Congratulations on a very very well organized and one of the most well communicated/supported races I have participated in over my 30 years of racing. You also attracted a very high quality field of competitors from the local area. Bruckner was an awesome asset along with the sports psych on the boat to ease the minds of the swimmers.
Thank you so much for such a great triathlon! All the volunteers and AC Police Dept for help and support!Great race! Looking forward to next year.
Had a great time once again running wildwood. Volunteers were loud and cheerful.
So glad this is happening again – we had an awesome time. will be there.
Such an awesome day! Found something in me I thought I lost!!!
Thanks to DelMo Sports, IRONMAN, the volunteers, and the police officers in multiple towns. And congratulations to fellow competitors. Great race.
First, Thank you to the volunteers and Delmo crew today!!! It was a long day for everyone, with rip currents, and headwinds, and beating sun - oh my! yet everyone was professional and helpful.
Awesome event! My husband and I did the run this morning and my son did the kid's run yesterday. Great weekend!!!
Thank you Stephen del Monte and the super amazing volunteers for a spectacular weekend! You’re all amazing and kept us going throughout the day! Congrats to all the finishers as well! Great group of athletes... The comradery I got to witness throughout the whole race speaks volumes about the sport of triathlon. Well done!
