Meet DelMo Athlete, Rosemary!
There are certain people in life that require special attention. Rosemary McCloskey, a legendary Queen who Escaped the Cape on her 83rd birthday, is one of them.
A true inspiration to us all. 🙏🏼
She started running and competing 25 years ago at the age of 57. Has completed 3 triathlons, numerous marathons, etc. all with 2 ‘new’ knees.
Retired nurse who keeps herself busy in the summer as the outdoor hostess at the Deauville for the past 15+ years.
This was her very first escape, she said we (her kids) inspired her last year as she cheered us in so much so that she was determined to compete. All the while knowing she was extremely nervous for the jump. But she trained hard, swimming in Strathmere’s back bays, daily runs on the beach and riding her coconut head bike across the Ocean Drive bridges. With her daughters by her side and some encouragement from Mitch & Steve, Mom dug deep, found her inner warrior and leaped into the Delaware Bay to conquer her fear and finish what set out to do. ESCAPE THE CAPE.
She proudly crossed the line with Prescott Pacer race day teammates:
- Daughter - Tricia “Coach” Seeman
- Daughter - Debra Sciarra
- Daughter - Michele Gates
- Daughter in law - Kristen “Coach Cicc” Ciccarelli
- Brother - John Kennedy
She is 61 years married, mother of 6, 11 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
Please help us in giving Rosemary a big round of applause and thumbs up for a phenomenal job well done👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
