To my DelMo athletes,
The end of an era for one of our events is upon us. After lengthy discussions with our community partners, we have made the collaborative decision to "sunset" The Tri The Wildwoods Triathlon. This is a difficult decision on many levels : My first event- the one I cut my teeth on and motivated me to go all in on DelMoSports; over 20 years of introducing so many of you to triathlon by doing your first race at TTW; my hometown race. I could go on but suffice it to say that Jamie and I have poured our hearts and souls into Tri the Wildwoods and are proud for this event to go out on top as one of the most successful, iconic triathlons in the Mid-Atlantic Region ever.
Many thanks to all our partners over the years: The City of North Wildwood, The City of Wildwood, Middle Township, the Borough of Wildwood Crest, GWITDA, Cape May County Tourism, Stampone Law, DeSatnick Real Estate etc. etc. I'd be remiss if I did not give a very special thank you to the North Wildwood Beach Patrol. The NWBP is where I found the love of endurance sports and the place where I was granted the opportunity to showcase classic beach racing for thousands of athletes over two decades. All of you have all helped make the dream of a kid from North Wildwood come alive by putting on a race in his hometown and bringing people from all over the United States to enjoy what is great about the Wildwoods. Tri the Wildwoods is, and will always be, the Gold Standard of racing 'down the shore.
Enough of that. There is still plenty of DelMo Racing to do in 2025!! Escape the Cape, Women's Philly Tri, Tri AC! Join us at one - or all, volunteer, or simply support those crossing their first finish line. We'll see you at the races!
Best,
Stephen and Jamie Del Monte
