It’s good to know that when you have a goal, work hard, you’ll get closer to where you want to be. It’s called Progress and it’s the essence of life and what some athletes might not understand is when you are progressing… you are actually EVOLVING… for the better. CHANGE IS A GOOD THING.

Here are DelMoSports we have never, ever put on the same event year over year. Every event, in our opinion, gets upgraded. We work tirelessly to GET BETTER. We take a deep look at our races, and ourselves for that matter, and we say, “This part is good, but it can be better, and if we make this part better, our athletes will be happier.” That’s it. That’s the secret sauce in what we do.

So as Spring enters stage left, what are we making better?

Hops Trot 5K | March 30, 2019: Revamped Awards and Awards Ceremony. Creation of new award categories specifically related to costumes; best group, best individual, best socks, best t-shirt, best group t-shirts, best superhero, and worst costume awards are a few to come your way. Keep growing, Keep Improving. Live what you preach!

MudHen Half Marathon, 8K, 5K & Kids’ Race (formerly the Wild Half Race Series) | April 27-29, 2018: Obviously, we changed the name, but the SPIRIT OF THE EVENT has been taken up a notch. We introduced a Friday Night 5K to kick off the weekend and have streamlined all races for simplicity as well as implemented course enhancements that WE ARE CERTAIN our athletes will love… all we need is a chance to show you;)

Escape the Cape Triathlon & Open Water Classic | June 9-10, 2018: We’re making good for our Escape to Lewes Swimmers by adding the open water swim on Saturday, June 9th (the day before the triathlon). Also, to make the swim safer, we’ve moved the swim finish up the beach 1/2 mile instead of next to the West End Jetty (BIG IMPROVEMENT). Also, we’ve upgraded the Expo Experience for a better flow for spectators and athletes alike. #winning.

Women’s Philadelphia Triathlon | July 8, 2018: We’ve never done this. We thought it would be a great idea. You’ve responded. Over 1100 women are taking over the City of Brotherly Love.

Atlantic City Triathlon | August 11, 2018 & IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City | September 23, 2108: New in 2018, we’re introducing camping on Bader Field. Yes, athletes can SLEEP NEXT TO TRANSITION. Additionally, the northernmost end of the boardwalk has been extended so we no longer need to do ANY RUNNING on Bader Field. Also, we’re working on something “Fun” to do on Friday Night of IMAC weekend. Stay tuned!

Tri the Wildwoods Triathlon, 5K & Kids' Race | August 25, 2018: Tri the Wildwoods is our longest standing event. This summer marks the 15th Anniversary. For those of you who’ve done this race a few times you know it doesn’t change… it EVOLVES. New in 2018, we’re launching the Wild Child Triathlon in addition to the Wild Child Splash & Dash. Wait, what? YES, a KID’S TRIATHLON complete with a swim in the ocean, bike along JFK Blvd, and run on the beach. It’s time to get the next generation ready for the real thing!

Crest Best Run Fest (10 Miler, 5 Miler, 5K, & Kid’s Race) | October 6-7, 2018: We CHANGED THE ENTIRE GAME WITH THIS RACE. Through our partnerships with the Borough of Wildwood Crest and the Greater Wildwood Tourism Development Improvement Authority (GWTIDA) we’re able to offer this OUTSTANDING RACE for as low as $19.10. Yes, this event is accessible for EVERYONE.

These are just some of the things we’ve been working on all winter so we can show you this spring/summer/fall.

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU UPGRADED?

All of us can upgrade something about ourselves, or our lives. Like our training, it takes time, it takes consistency, we’re going to fail, we’re going to second guess, but we must STAY THE COURSE knowing we will reach our goals.

Here’s another thing: Most people will think you’re either crazy or wrong for wanting to make a change. Trust me on this one. But you can’t live your life by what other people will say. If the changes exist deep down inside it is your duty to see this evolution come to fruition. The more you tap into this, the better your life will be. There were so many times where DelMoSports was traveling down a dark path, but we believed in what we were doing. We had a plan. We had a vision. We had the RESOLVE to see it through NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES.
